Prod. Phil Good's ear was shaped long before he touched a mixing desk, in a house where his dad's vinyl filled the room with the soul and warmth of the sixties and seventies. That sound sent him searching early, from the recorder to the violin, then on to piano, drums and a little guitar, and by nine he was already behind the decks. School couldn't keep pace with where he was heading, so he left early and went to college two years ahead of schedule to study music production.
Since his late teens he has worked largely out of sight, mixing and recording for a range of artists and letting the work speak louder than the name. Today his focus is his own production, building beats and shaping records alongside artists who care about the detail, with a creative vision that reaches well beyond the beat itself. He's open to the right projects.
